Professor John Hills of the London School of Economics makes some scary but true statements about the reasons why the gap between the rich and the poor is wider now than it was 40 years ago in the United Kingdom and why having new laws to close the pay gap between men and women (suggested by Harriet Harman) wouldn’t make any difference because there would still be a yawning chasm between poor women and rich women.
