In the words of Kool And The Gang, Celebrate Good Times, Come On!!!! or if you fancy a little bit of Queen (the music group), then it’s Don’t stop me now, cuz I’m having a good time……. Go on, I know you want to dance.
Okay, let’s get a bit serious.
This post was inspired by an article ‘Do you really stop feeling young at 35 and start feeling old at 58?’ published in The Daily Mail.
According to the European Social Survey, Britons believe that old age begins at 58 and you stop feeling young at 35. I’m glad I’ve got a few years remaining to feel young and approximately three decades before feeling old( according to the survey).
Although it’s worth mentioning, a small patch of hair fell off my head a few days ago and it appears my worst nightmare of becoming bald is now a reality lol!!! It’s not that bad because a report ‘Baldness ‘could be good for your health’ say scientists.’ was published on the BBC website yesterday.
My approach or response to the question do you really stop feeling….., is; ensure you have a good time in everything or anything you do.
Being youthful is a thing of the mind and there is absolutely nothing wrong in having a good time at any age.
The aim of this post is to suggest a few ways of having a good time and also list it’s benefits.
In no particular order based on a compilation of suggestions from friends at work, here are 50 Ways To Have A Good Time.

Hi Ayo, I’m writing about the same thing right now! But your list is so good I’ll just have to think of another topic for my post for tomorrow.
I very easily have fun during work and play that guilt sometimes rears its ugly head when I think that I may be having too much fun. Don’t worry, I’m working on that.
One of my favorite activities of late is sitting in a circle with my son and hubby and banging on drums (not a shortage of percussion instruments in my home) while some great rhythm-based song plays in the background. It’s pure catharsis!
Oh, and I asolutely love that Kool and the Gang song and also love love love salsa dancing!
haha belinda,
how are you?
banging drums belinda!!!hmmm it seems you are one big musical family.
take care of yourself and keep having a good time. it seems you get plenty of it
Ayo, hello, hope you are having a good time today. Thanks for another encouraging list – all your suggestions are wonderful and joyfully appreciated. I would add: Go out to your back garden or to the park. Take off your shoes and walk barefoot on the grass. Dance around a tree. Bend down to look really closely at a flower. Sit in stillness and simply observe whatever passes by. Say thank you to everything around you. Break bread together with friends and celebrate with laughter and a bottle of red wine. Stop by my latest blog post and enjoy the energy of spring vibrations from Japan – Catrien Ross.

hi catrien,
how are you?
it seems you are really having a good time lol!!!
YES I encouraged readers to be DAFT(Determined Authentic Focused Thankful) lol!!! not daft the true meaning laugh!!!
no tree dancing i cant even picture it lol!!! and i take it you meant be BOLD not BALD!!! or it could just be BALD(Bold Authentic Loving Determined)
this made me smile this morning.
thanks for this
take care of yourself.
Ayo, I meant be BALD, as in having no hair. From your gravatar, I can see that you have already experienced that state of being. So, once the hair is gone, what more have you got to lose? Somewhere, a tree awaits your daftness.
Catrien
P.S. I loved your acronym BALD – Bold Authentic Loving Determined

xo,

i’m glad you liked it
Ayo, you’ve got me dancing, dancing, dancing today! But 58 is old age? Yikes! I reject that. I thought 60 was supposed to be the new 40. These Britons in the survey need to get a life. Or better yet, read your list. One of my favorites is having a picnic…in bed. Kind of like eating in bed, but it can lead to even more delicious things that I will refrain from talking about in our PG environment. Happy Friday!

happy friday too and mind how you go. lol@pg environment
have a lovely weekend
Hi Ayo,
Cool post! The age thing is an interesting one. I remember my little sister was not happy about turning 30. To me, that was hilarious! I thought I might grow up a little when I turned 30 – how very exciting!
For my 40th birthday I got a surprise sky dive. To me, that represented that I could take risks and push the envelope. For me 41st my lover got me a motorcycle. How very fun! I played with that for a few years and sold it, so happy my head was still intact and attached to my body!
My 50th was spent taking a trip to New Orleans, Atlanta, Savannah, and Charleston. The Jazz Festival in New Orleans was amazing and a wonderful lover in Atlanta accompanied me to Charleston. We are still travel together.
My point – it just keeps getting better and better…until it no longer does. Fun is definitely not confined to a particular age group.
Now, fun things to do! My good friends Heather and Lisa (in their mid-30’s) are going hula hooping together. How damn cool is that!
Enjoying your site!
hi lauren,
thanks for stopping by.
it gets exciting as you approach each age. I havent even thought of skydiving lol!!! i couldnt agree more with your statement Fun is definitely not confined to a particular age group.
This is so true.
I hope to see you again, do have a lovely weekend.
Hi Ayo:
Loved your ideas on having a good time especially pillow fights, going to museums, and shopping YAH! I actually feel younger and younger every year so maybe I’m on a different time clock. But I find playing with children at their level meaning we actually play by their rules can make anyone break out of their old shell and feel young once again. I love hanging out with my niece and nephew they make me laugh, and I remember the small joys of living. Thanks so much for sharing!
Here’s to having an infinite good time and growing younger!

i am glad you are having a good time

Hi Ayo,
I loved the list of different ways to have a good time. There’s something for everyone on the list!
I think that I have a good time when I am with my friends and we are just enjoying each other’s company. It can be as simple as that. There’s no need to complicate things when the easiest and unplanned things can be more fun.
This is a great reminder that we can all use more fun in our lives. We have to make time for it otherwise the consequences can be totally not fun.

hi karen,
how are you?
thanks for contributing to this topic and having a bit fun of fun in our lives relaxes us, makes us happy and you are spot on when you say the consequences for not taking time out to have a good time isn’t fun at all.
have a great week.
What great suggestions Ayo. I hope you’ve found the time to do some of these this weekend. I like to go for a run on a Sunday morning before other people are about. I always enjoy that (especially when it’s spring like now).
One of the things I do enjoy though, but I’ve not had much opportunity since I dislocated my knee 18 months ago, is an hour with my power kite on the beach in Norfolk. Now that is a good time!

hi mathew,
how are you?
I had swell time this weekend. Took the whole family to pizza hut, then went to toys r us, bought a lego set and a handy manny toy set for my son.
we spent time building a fire engine and station …..(i can go on)
a quick question, does the power kite work/operate like the glider?
have a lovely week
Great list. Let me add 1 more.
Write 101 things you will love to do before you die. I wrote mine in 2004 and i remember it too me about 4 hours!
They were 4 hours of pure bliss though.
Cheers

It’s amazing how we place the word “fun” on such big things like, going to an amusement park or vacation time. Many time having a good time is in the simpler things in life. Thanks for reminding me of many more ways I can have fun!
