I read a shocking piece today in The Daily Telegraph titled ‘Brits’ sense of humour fails at the age of 52, study finds.(It’s slightly subjective but I’m glad I still have at least 2 decades to go lol!!!).
The research carried out by scientists at the University of Glamorgan suggests that both men and women begin to suffer a sharp decline in their sense of humour and get increasingly grumpy.
Dr Lesley Harbidge stated: “The Lifetime of Laughter Scale” shows that there really is a law of diminishing returns when it comes to laughter and the following facts emerged from the study:

Some strange facts emerged today:
‘Feeling Grumpy Is Good For You’. A research carried out by Professor Joe Forgas of The University of New South Wales suggests grumpy people cope with more demanding situations than happy people because of the way the brain “promotes information processing strategies”. His experiments showed in contrast to those annoying happy types, miserable people are better at decision-making and less gullible. (Culled From The BBC Website).
Did anyone sigh? Now, I understood the concept of the article but felt it should have drawn a parallel with moderate optimism hmmh!!!(I may be wrong)

This post was inspired by watching the Prime Minister Gordon Brown crack a joke on question time today. Not that I have so much interest or knowledge in politics, but Gordon Brown hardly smiles (well at least the times I have seen him on television lol!!). It was fascinating to see him throw a wisecrack at David Cameron and laugh while doing so.
At that point my perception of him changed because his laughter brought out the human side of him despite his political controversies.
